i dont get why she accused the cop

of trying to forcibly remove her veil

when she knew she was being recorded.

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

icy - Which is a good reason the law requires that head and face coverings must be removed for identification.

Which is now in place new law) in NSW and WA .. due to the Carnita Mathews case.

Lifting head/face coverings for identification purposes does not require a full ban on wearing burqa/niqab/full face helmets, wigs & sunglasses though.

BECAUSE SHE IS DISHONEST.

She probably didn't really think it would be looked at. ........ or maybe in the heat of the drama, she forgot it was ALL recorded. Maybe someone else convinced her to do that............. no idea really except that she is dishonest.

As for the racist  accusation, perhaps she really feels persecuted and jumped to conclusions, many people get angry and beg when they are given a ticket.

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

You have to laugh at the antics of the BBB (Ban the Burka(*) Brigade) - is the best they can come up with this lone example of Carnita whoever-she-is doing a bit of a shonky ?   Is that it ????   And for this reason, plus a bit of paternalistic "I only want it banned because it demeans women", and some misplaced and unfounded FEAR that some cross-dressing bloke will strap a bomb under their burka they want them banned in total ?

Punks all over Australia of every creed are doing far worse with hoodies, Dada trackies, blue singlets and pork-pie hats.

Show me the crime statistics on crimes being committed by hijab/niqab wearing people of either gender (lol).  Will it be consistent with the fear being generated ?

(*) Includes Niqab and other forms of facial covering clothing, but "BBB" sounds better than "BNB"

You know what should be banned ?

Ignorance, fear, prejudice, knee-jerk reactions, interference for no good reason, meddling with bad intent, xenophobia, misplaced jingoism, loathing and over-blown patriotism.

Woman LOL

OK

Well, some people are just stupid? so that can also be a reason................

another thought, we don't really know that it was her, do we, that made the complaint, it may well have been another woman pretending to be her, not knowing CM had been filmed. An activist? perhaps?

or just CM lying.
