Hang on, why are we avoiding Halal food? You are the second person I have seen say that. What did I miss? I wouldn't have a clue if the food I consume is Halal or not, it's not something that has ever been important enough (to me) to warrant my consideration. I do try to consume organic foods where possible and those foods which supply adequate nutrition for my requirements as well as avoid processed food, but that is the extent to which I moderate my dietary intake.

I think that in perspective, there is nothing wrong with a man wearing speedos. Abbott is in good shape, especially for his age, and the clothing was appropriate for the activity he was undertaking. I really didn't understand what all the fuss about that was/is.

Do some people really 'care' about women being forced to wear burqa's and yet they post images and text copied from anti Muslim hate groups websites/blogs? That doesn't add upimo.

well, now you have done it! you used those readily available " 's around care....................

As to the apt'ness of the speedos, the burqa is apt for women who want to wear it as well.

Personally I see little value in those kind of pics but it does seem to upset those who love Mr Abbott,( however, it gets evened out by the ones they post as well.)

There's no comparison.

Mr Abbott wears speedos on the beach. Not at work, not on the street, not during his interviews,

Burqas on the other hand, are worn in every aspect of public life, even on the beach.

Revenue raised on food labelled as Halal is given to terrorist groups? Is that why people are avoiding it? Is there empirical evidence to support this? Wouldn't members of the terrorist cells have to be involved in the line of production or chain of supply to receive any revenues raised as a result of the sale of those products? What, there is a tin on the store counter and every time a Halal product is sold the host store chips in a few dollars which is collected under the cover of darkness in a back alleyway after the performance of secret ritual every Tuesday Night by the friendly neighbourhood terrorist?

Yes, Az, cpl of hundred women in Australia wear them because they're not allowed out in public in anything else according to their creed.

Thousands of men wear speedos for swimming or other aquatic activity, but not in other areas of public life.

It's ridiculous to draw comparisons between the 2.
