Re: Should the Stetson be banned in Australia

I dunno, Joono. I used to play rounders at school, and it was one of the few sports I was good at because I wore glasses and I was terrified that the ball was going to break them, so I really hit out at it. It might be a "junior" form of baseball.

Thanks Katy..... Yeah very similar to Baseball. I've seen short clips of cricket but never had the opportunity to see or get an explanation. Now you and I have a little bit of a rapport.

How you feel about the new rule about blocking the plate. Personally I understand it but they better change it back. Im fine with them reviewing plays. Better they get it right,

Re: Should the Stetson be banned in Australia

I just puked up a goggle search as someone suggested, I could puke up a you tube search to maybe show the game being played, but I'm like you and know nothing about it. You tube is hanging up on me, you'll have to look it up. If I get to a library tomorrow, with better internet, i'll find something and post it.

.

Fun Factor : Now you have a choice in chat, factor that

Re: Should the Stetson be banned in Australia

I played rounders in junior school England and Soft ball in primary school in Australia too.  Same thing but I think it was one of the girls sports.  I was useless and I would always be placed in the outfield doing absolutely nothing for an hour.

There is another junior sport here which is similar and that's T ball and the batter hits the ball off a post.

Everyone's using replay. I get it and agree, as long as they don't take the human element out of the game, which I don't think they'll go that far.

Re: Should the Stetson be banned in Australia

Joono, we played rounders and hockey (lol, back to hockey) when I was at school in London. Hockey was vicious. It was all about hitting the ankles, rather than the ball. In fact, if there was no ball, the game wouldn't have been played any differently, LOL.

Golden ... soccer ...

Each team has 11 players. The field is rectangular and there are two goal posts at either end. The aim is to get the ball into the nets (the goals). On each team, there is a goalie (a goalkeeper who tries to stop the ball getting into the nets), and the rest of the team is divided into attack and defence.

Soccer is the only game I can bear to listen to on the radio, which is a good thing as I listen to ABC News Radio which switches to the BBC at night.

And ...
