So Abbotts BMW wasn't even part of a proper tender...?

As the Holden saga continues more outrageous behaviour comes to light.

  • Firstly, Abbott (or any of his Mnisters) did not meet with Holden in the lead up to he decision. No meetings, no correspondence, nothing.

  • Then, the Opposition (led by the Deputy PM and his loud mouth Treasurer) taunt Holden in public via question time rather than through a professional forum goading them into making a decisin and calling their bluff.

  • And at the same time, they tell us gleefully that Holden didn't even bother to tender for the Government fleet of cars and that is why our PM has to drive a BMW.

So now it turns out that they DID tender, along with Audi and Mercedes Benz. But our government chose BMW.

The taunts about how disorganised Holden were that they couldn't even tender came 2 hours before the car manufacturer made their decision. After Holden execs and staff messaged each other with "Are you watching question time?".

Can they do ANYTHING right??

Already three major polls have shown voters slipping back across the aisle to Labor - making the Coalition the only popularly-elected government (as distinct from the negotiated route to power by Gillard in 2010) in the 40 years of the Nielsen series to have lost the popular advantage so quickly after being installed.

It seems Abbott still suffers from the 70s "imports denote an upper class attitude".

I wish he'd lay off the yellow hued make up. It looks silly.

That's the sort of comment

I'd expect from someone with values and priorities

a millimetre deep

Won't surprise me if Ebay decides to ban political threads in the very near future

They must be noting how many people have been driven from this board in total disgust

Yes, a lot of people were disgusted pre election, by LNP supporters political thread attacks on Labor especially unwarranted ones on Ms Gillard.

those who can dish it out but can't take are conspicuously absent.

i'd love him to show enough intestinal fortitude to 'go again' PC as he said he would. the trigger is there, the carbon tax repeal languishing. write to him and demand he call the double d. Smiley LOL

so you believe Tony Abbott is personally handling the tender process?

i would be surprised if he even knew it was out for tender.

Holden would have made this decision before the government refused them any more money.

a decision that big is not made in 24 hours. it would have required a board meeting probably many meetings.

the government called their bluff, they just wanted propping up for their last few years of making cars in Australia.

It is obvious Holden has no social conscience and is not deserving of any more money
