As from today I will no longer be posting on here. I can't articulate the reason so I will leave it up to the one's who worked so studiously to achieve this result.
Cheers to the handful of posters who made this an enjoyable pastime, a good place to have an opinion & a place to come to read the politic of the day.

OP you could try posting on general topics, if the political ones are causing you grief?

SF, I have been around for for over 10 years here in what I call The Sandpit. It is a microcosm, and of course contains some ostriches who can/will kick sand in any face of any they disagree with, are unable to debate, or will even bury their heads in that same sand.

That sums up the attitude of some Myopic ostriches, and translated means " your political posts are causing them grief " thus: sand blasts.
SF, I do not see you as an ardent "general topic" thread Posterer (porridge plodder), and suggest/ask that you remain, because I not only appreciate any post that ruffles feathers, but I am a devout Voltairian.

Another reason is that what you post is too upsetting for the group & that is the reson you have been sent to Nauru.
It's a pretty sad indictment when this happens to a poster. If people don't like the post why bother to read it, put the poster on ignore, problem solved & your conscience is clear. God knows I have had more than my share of this type of thing. Funny it only happens to the conservative posters.

That is not what I meant at all. Please don't quote my posts and put your spin on them.

Forgive me, John, but isn't that comment just a trifle myopic? Porridge is porridge, even when it is a trugid sludge heavily overseasoned with political chilli powder.

Sorry A3, after I posted I wondered if it would be taken as you have done. However I hasten to say that :
"That sums up the attitude of some Myopic ostriches," was meant to be a generic term, not one aimed directly at yourself.
I will however quote from any post I wish to, and would assert that my interpretation of your post i.e.:
"your political posts are causing them grief" meaning SF's posts are causing grief to the Myopic ostriches, stands.
I will though, proof read more before posting.

I find it offensive that some are rejoicing that a persons right post an opinion on here has left. Regardless of one's political preference, that is no reason to celebrate the loss of a poster.
A very easy solution would be to ignore the member & get on with your own posts & opinions. I find also that posters who complain about politicl threads being on here is ludicrous because they are then on the thread complaining, what's that about?
