Something I have noticed about political posts/threads

and I could be wrong and guilty of the same

trying not to be biased here but 🙂

left leaning tend to decipher information in the news and give personal thoughts along with links

right leaning tend not to decipher but copy and paste endless articles without much personal input views

not trying to start an argument here but has anyone else noticed this?

When I look back you are probably right and I agree Obama was very funny. It is not only abbott though that has been under the spotlight, a lot of his team have made some terrible mistakes and said some really stupid things and questioning those policies is worthwhile.

I would like to see some legitimate praise for abbott and his government, there is very little of that, even from his supporters, there is just endless copy and pastes and cartoons without personal input. I'm curious what people really think, not who they agree with, there has to be a reason why people think the government is doing a good job. Job creation, climate 'variation' LOL, gay marriage, asylum seekers are topics the left often want to discuss - however there aren't that many on the right keen to discuss ???

If I bring up something that abbott said in the past, why cannot that be discussed in relation to his current decisions and policies? Every time the 'there will be no carbon tax' was mentioned it was responded to.

Yes, but, at least for some of the population, there was nothing to write home about with Rudd or Julia at the time either, except for the infighting, and that was quashed as being liberal TV/newspapers. And if you want to bring something Abbot said in the past, then something said by anyone on the Labour side is fair game too. But you and I both know, it's not about the discussions, it's the thug like element that seems to occur naturally here that made a difference. Pounce on your enemy type thing, happens in all the threads here, just happens to be more left leaners posting here than right. Or maybe the right gave up the lost cause (on here) like I said before.

nevy, oh well, some do like to chat about politics and as you pointed out it is a chat board. I  see it a little different than you but that is OK, doesn't mean I am going to put you down and I would still participate on a thread started by you if it interested me. Woman Happy

Again, you are probably right. I do have to say that there is a lot of pouncing from the right and it is more of a personal nature, the pouncing from the left seems more policy and ideas based.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts nevyn 🙂

It's nevyn. And that's just another belittling tactic.

There's a lot of pouncing from both sides. Perhaps you don't see it because your mind's made up. I came in right down in the middle in that political thing a while back. LOL But it means I see both sides. And most that I have posted to the right in the past has been because it seemed so one sided.

As to the others who disrupted this chat, which I really enjoyed, talking to an adult is a novelty, stop butting in when adults are talking.

Re: Something I have noticed about political posts/threads

I try to listen to all sides it is just that there is not a great deal of discussion like there used to be, I want to be able to discuss asylum seekers without being asked how many I take into my home, I want to be able to discuss climate change rationally, education and the rest of it.

It does make it difficult when our politicians aren't that great. If the boats really have been stopped then kudo's to abbott as he has lived up to his promises, I remain skeptical though.

There's the rub. Politicians on either side aren't that great. The follow party lines, And party lines are how to get/stay in power these days, not how to do the right thing by the majority.

I do think the Lib's boat policy is right. we don't want people smugglers making money off people thinking they can get here and end up drowning. And it does seem to be working. I don't know about you, but I don't want to hear about anyone else drowning trying to get here via people smuggling.I know it means a hard line, but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. You may not like your life, but your alive.

Climate change. Well, I don't think taxing the average joe is going to change anything. By all means, tax the companies that have abused it for years.

I would like to dicuss these things as adults do too. But it's the internet, it is what it is.
