Here we go again - after three years of a Federal minority ALP government "propped" up by two "independents" representing conservative seats the ALP in SA on only 47% of the two party preferred vote is now propped up by a single independent whos electorate is a very conservative one (Labor got what 8% of the vote there?)...
No matter how the diehards try and sugar coat it SA labor didnt win, they may be in power but thats by default only and can not be called a victory at all.
Labor lost 3-4 seats, they got less votes than the Libs and the biggest kick in the teeth for them is they now have to now rely on an independent and be held hostage to him. Another Oakeshot and Windsor. Geoff Brock is a turncoat and goes against his conservative electorate for a few pieces of silver as this is his last term as their member after this.
On a 2PP basis, the Liberals resulted 54.7% vs Labor's 45.3%. Even higher than any opinion poll was actually suggesting.
The people of SA dont want labor but due to the weird gerrymander voting system and a turncoat independent the people will be forced to endure another 4 years of chaos.

Are you able to edit the title? It should read Labor did win
Thanks in advance 🙂
yes I think the thread is well and truly over... not to mention incorrect.
how embarrassing

And more missing posts too, and I thought I was being nice. Curiouser and curiouser ....
Anyways, I see this thread has now branched off into another ... maybe that's a good thing. It's nice to know that the rusted-on, mendicant, pathetic, bankrupt State of no-hoping Laborites can run to two whole threads.
At least I can count myself as a South Aussie (not to say that those outside SA are not permitted to comment on internal politicking !)
It's nice to see everyone so concerned for our future

Let's see how popular the libs are after the May budget;)
They will have to stop wasting money if they want any credibility

You seem to be forgetting a few things! Or is it okay when things work your way! You lost! Deal with it! The independents were free to make the choice they felt would represent their constiuents best and in doing so obvioulsy chose the Labor party. How's that wupe out looking? LOL!
