Charleston, South Carolina saw the assassination of 9 churchgoers by a young man who was given a .45 automatic by his father for his birthday. Oddly enough, last month Oregon, over the whining of gun fondlers, who viewed it as an assaut on their 2nd amendment rights, passed a law that requires a background check for private sales or for giving a firearm as a gift, even to a family member. Had this individual undergone one, with his drug abuse history, odds are he would have been refused permission, and had his father decided to ignore the requirement, he would be now sharing cell space with his offspring.
The nine churchgoers lost their constitutional rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness because some white Southerner decided to exercise his 2nd Amendment rights.......who is to blame? I proffer that the lawmakers who are too cowardly to introduce meaningful legislation are the culprits.
