Stealing from hotel rooms - yes or no?

People steal the weirdest things...

I used to take the unused mini shampoo/soap thingies but I travel a lot now so can't be bothered.

You?

oh they do not. you go to First Aid if the cut is bad enough etc. or they even come to you! We all kept bandaisa etc in our own knife boxes for the small stuff, but the big stuff ya go to First Aid!

LOL at tweezers being vital.

They were used on the premises, just not for the intended purpose.

Just like the alfoil rolls were not intended for molds for the tuille biscuits, but geez they worked well, and boy the wait staff used to go nuts at us for using the cups for dessert molds or eggs.... but sometimes, some stuff is just good for certain purposes, and those tweezers were the best thing to get the bones out of the salmon with. Oh, and heaven forbid if we used the silver cutlery anywhere for eggs LOL - that'd send the wait staff right off! But sheesh, those spoons were just the right size for the portion we needed, and they were the perfect shape to help sauces etc just slide into position.

We did used to get into trouble though for propping the back door open with a tin of tomatoes or sumfin - nope they drew the line at door stops LOL

You can find the court cases. I didn't study them, I was working for the Hyatt when they happened. When a security guard and his wife get sacked for theft, it tends to cause a bit of a buzz around the place and management ramp up the damage control and interhouse staff training....

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

I did have to buy potato peelers and a grater while I was staying there which I left behind, so I consider it more of a trade than a theft. They got the better end of the deal.

Hmmmmm you have just reminded me of a time in Thailand, my Grandmother was quite ill and out of bottled water, so opened one from the mini bar. We replaced it with another exactly the same and hotel staff was none the wiser. Is probably considered stealing though.

Also, I clean a short stay apartment and can honestly say, I never thought to count the teaspoons. LOL! There are other things I have to keep my eye on going walkies though. I suppose the owner counts them occasionally, but she has never mentioned missing spoons to me.

I figured they wouldnt notice the missing teaspoon, they didnt have a matching setting for 8 or anything, there was just a bunch of random mismatched cutlery. I'm sure they are none the wiser.

I'd have dome the same with the bottle of water.

I asked my daughter in law who works at a large hotel in Townsville. She said shampoos etc there are for the guest to use or take. As I said I do not use them but have taken them for my little grandies.

Would have done the same with the water as well.
