Is Stephen Fry's Fiance Too Young For Him?
Respected British actor and writer Stephen Fry announced his engagement on Twitter in recent days, and most comments were congratulatory until overnight there wave been more criticisms into Stephen’s partner’s age.
In a post on Twitter, Fry said: “Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag…I’m very, very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!”
57-year-old Stephen Fry is set to marry 27-year-old Elliott Spencer – a gap of 30 years. The difference in age may be inconsequential to some, but it’s the fact that Elliott looks much younger than 27 that has had chins wagging.
But is it really anyone else’s business? Should it really matter how old each person is and the size of the age gap in the couple? Or is there a line?
Elliott’s parents (who are the same age as Stephen) have given the happy couple their blessing and said they were over the moon, yet some have been using this as a basis for their insults.
It begs the question – if it were a woman dating a man 30 years her junior, would there be much of a fuss? Or what about an older man dating a younger woman? I doubt it.
Instead of focusing on his gender, age or sexual preference, we can’t deny that two people in love is a beautiful thing. Stephen might actually make people realise that scrutiny over these things is not going to stop him from marrying the one he loves.
Oh Stephen...
No different to Geoffrey Edelsten, I guess, lol

Does your fella look older than his age, Icy?
No not really. He looks about 43. Which is what he is.
And I'm glad you get it because I don't get what you're on about.
I"t's ok to go for the young as long as they don't look young?"
As far as I'm concerned it's ok to have a much younger, or a much older partner, same-sex or hetero, as long as you're compatible and are happy in each other's company.
So why start a thread about it with a reference to Edelston, if you don't care?
Do you think he is one of the "majority of gays who is supposedly a paedophile"?

This may come as a surprise to you, Glee, but people can post threads about anything they feel newsworthy, or worth social commentary. As long as it doesn't contravene board rules as laid down by ebay and enforced by Lithium, of course.
I thought it would make interesting discussion that yet another older man has found himself a (much) younger partner.
Hence the comaprison to Geoffrey Edelsten. I see Shane Warne is hopping on the younger partner bus now, too.
Shane Warne's Busty New Love Interest
I'm happy to discuss my relationship with my much younger partner, if that floats your boat.

I wouldn't know, of course, but no, I don't think so.
The eyebrows that were raised and the chins that were wagged about his already much younger partner looking much younger than his actual age were not mine.
I hav to go now, be back later.

Well clearly he is in your minority then (i.e. gay men that aren't paedophiles), assuming you are sticking to your homophobic guns on the other thread.
Now .... would I leave my child in the care of Stephen Fry, a known gay man ?
You bet I would, the kid would probably come away smarter. And probably less bigoted.

So you spread salacious gossip with no idea whether it is true or not?
I am sure if Stephen Fry's fiance was under 18 or 17 or 16... plenty of people (family, friends) would know that for sure, and speak out about it.
I can't see the point in that thought in the first place ( the 'looking' younger than 27yo), let alone republishing it.
Does Rupert Murdoch look younger or older than 80+ when he is accompanied by a 40yo woman? If so, what would that matter? ( ( if looking 'younger' probably mean wealthy older people have a good cosmetic surgeon!) People are the age on their birth certificate not how old or young they 'look'.
As I posted before lots of over 25's get asked for ID in the liquor store, because they 'look' young.
What do we expect 27 year olds to look like? Face wrinkled? LOL

Um...it was on twitter. But I concede it's gossip. And we all republish gossip on here don't we Am? Like about Mrs Abbott.

There was no question that Mr Fry's fiance is under age.

Tell me about it. Hansom Gransom is 22 and looks about 17. They refused him service at the bar last time we went for a pub lunch. Lost his photo ID.

Ha ha you do have a sense of humour lol
