Stinky dog..Help needed

Hi

I need to find something to wash my dog in that will keep her smelling nice for at least a few days.

She is suseptible to skin problems, so we have been bathing her in low allergenic shampoos, but I find she smells bad after 2 days. Ideally I would like to bath her every 2 weeks, as it is easier on her sensitive skin. Currently using an oatmeal wash.

She smells like she hasn't been bathed in a month. When she is bathed I also change her bedding.

Is there any products you can recommend that will keep her smelling fresh and keep my house from smelling like a kennel?

Can you rub baking soda in her coat after she is washed and dried? It absorbs smells.

Healthy diet is probably the best thing for any dog, what kind of dog is it?

are you sure it is her skin/hair? my last dog stank after 3 days, we then took her to vet, he found she had some bad teeth , she was licking herself hence the smell.

Does she scratch a lot and have itchy and inflamed skin.  If so, she might have that seborrhoea which is maybe caused by allergies but it doesn't have to be food.  It could be an over reaction to flea bites or grasses or something but it does make them really smelly.   Has she seen a vet?

Just wondering what the vet has suggested, they usually have a very good idea, and best

to know what you can put on the skin without making it worse.  Could be teeth too as someone

else suggested.

I was going to suggest a swim in the pool or the surf - but I don't know how that goes on sensitive skin.

Actually the surf may be good for the skin - salt water seems to help a lot of skin problems.

Re: Stinky dog..Help needed

Maybe a trip to the vet to rule out any issues, I wouldn't be bathing a Staffy fortnightly given that they are prone to skin problems. Our staffy is about the same age and she is lucky to get a bath monthly and doesn't "stink". She smells like a dog though, just not offensive.

Has you always had an issue with odour? Has her diet changed recently? We feed ours chicken frames/wings,raw veges, the occasional marrow bone, but the main diet is Royal Canin.
