it never stops amazing me
there are people ringing up radio stations blameing the govt for the power outage.
i know early on when the power went off and it became obvious it was state wide even i thought it was rediculous.
but after seeing the towers all bent over i knew there was nothing anyone could have done to predict such a thing happening.
if your in an area thats still got no power that sucks but its not the govts fault and its going to be a huge job to get those towers repaired as i'm pretty sure even scott cam hasnt got a few spares in his truck!
my real concern is from what i understand the new NBN service for landline phones will be relying on battery backup just like the mobile network so a few hours after power goes off so will your landline. i dont know how the landlines are powered now but have never heard of them not working in a power failure.
i hope someone points this out to our prime minister who is forcing everyone onto the NBN even if you dont have internet.
his faster, cheaper, better might have a major flaw.
