Fast food chain Subway has pulled its Halloween ad from its official YouTube channel after it was branded "sexist".
The US purveyors of lengthy sandwiches produced an ad that encouraged women to eat Subway sandwiches in order to look good in "sexy" Halloween costumes.
They encountered an online backlash, with internet users branding them "sexist" "misogynistic" and "sizeist".
The spot features a woman who consumes the company's sandwiches because she wants to fit into "all the costumes" for Halloween, like "sexy nurse" "spicy Red Riding Hood" and sexy permutations of schoolteacher and football player.

I don't see anything wrong with the ad.
I like Subway's Italian BMT best. With avocado. Yum.

Men can eat fried takeways, be obese and still look sexy in a Halloween costume, but women can't.
that statement is not from the ad, same difference.
Women should eat at Subway (assuming they sell lower fat food than other fast food outlets) so they will look good in Halloween costumes
Alright... that is what the ad implies.

sizeist (plural sizeists)
a person who discriminates against another person on account of the latter's size being much greater than typical, due to obesity.

I'm not vegetarian, and I know they're supposed to change gloves
with every order, but sometimes they get slack if ya not watching.
So, when I'm not watching and they don't change gloves,
I get Delhi Belly. It must be the cured meats, cos I also get
sick if I have a meat pizza

Only man in the advert is seen in just one covered-up viking outfit.
Subway even introduces the clip on its YouTube channel with the sentence: 'Bikini season may be over, but there’s more reasons right around the corner to stay fit with delicious, low-fat sandwiches from SUBWAY.
What about speedo season, lol.

Oooouu, I just worked out the easiest dress up costume. If you're really really fat, you just need the biggest loser T-shirt and you can be dress as a biggest loser contestant.

I have never eaten anything from subway, but isn't it the place that has foot long breadrolls? If anybody is eating that for lunch they are very unlikely to be very slim. It might be healthy but too much, and overeating is not healthy. So the ad is missleading and sexist.

You can get 6inch subs, supernova. They cost about $5-6+ but you can get a 12" one from $7 (they have specials on some types). It isn't good value to buy the smaller one, although I do occasionally as a 12" roll is too big (OK if you want to go halves with someone else).
