will not be donating?
Did they last time?
It's not a choice when taken from tax.
Were those affected charged the tax last time, or were they exempt?
Did Campbell Newman get everything insured so there is no need for a tax?

I have never understood the need for the PM etc to visit disaster areas, maybe there is a reason? but I always thin k t6he resources being used could be put to better use.

tell the MP's so those who cant help themselves can leak the story before she made the anouncement ? both parties have serial leakers you know.
funniest thing i saw this AM was the Herald Sun front page at the coffee place, not even a pretence of partisanship there.. so if anyone is interested in balanced coverage forget the murdoch offerings, save them for the outhouse.

I know when Campbell Newman visited the whole town was abuzz... if was a great boost to moral...
As much as I do not like Gillard I think her visit will be an amazing boost to those in evacuation centers... they have been there for days...
I think people feel very alone and forgotten when everything they own has gone and a visit from the highest official in the country is a good idea.

I would not go and see her... the fact is that our region needs massive support in the manner of donations.... I would not want a rant from me to distract from the important needs of my community.
I think you need to remember that the entire east coast has been in disater mode due to fires and floods...you are not the only communtity in need.

I agree...the funds involved with a fruitless visit would be better utilized IMO

Actually I am a little surprised that I have not heard mention of donation areas? Last time we were all advised where to deliver clothing, tinned goods, whatever they told us was needed, both for the fire and flood victims. I haven't heard any community announcements about this yet. Or have I missed them?? I'm on Sunny Coast, if anyone has heard, can you post a link?

Possibly no way of getting them to the people, no place to store them? They were saying $ donations instead
