Re: THE BUDGET THREAD

to em:

I repeated what I heard JOE HOCKEY saying during his address to the press club, which was:

riiiiiight.   ....now we are being peddled 'tsunamis of expenditure'......'left by the previous govt'......and 'this is why'.....we've basically delivered this budget.....which is not a hardlined as it should be in the first few years.

*wow.   if anyone believes this hard sell carp then heaven help me and my kids.

..................................................................................................................................................................................................................

you said:

Every time I hear 'previous government' it sets my teeth on edge. Stop whining about what went before. It lowers your credibility.

............................................................................................................................................................................................................

my credibility is quite intact thank you. That of Joe Hockey's and his mob is not though.

Re: THE BUDGET THREAD

"The arrangement will be voluntary for GPs – who will be free to waive the charges if they wish"

That is a fairly vague statement. What is most GP's decide to waive the $7 charge? There must be some conditions for waiving it.

"There will be a Low Gap Incentive paid to providers where they only charge concession card holders and children the $7 co-payment for the first 10 services – or when they charge no patient contribution for additional services beyond that.

However there is no information on what the incentive will be."

The last sentence there is vague as well

Thanks punch. I wasn't suggesting your info was incorrect.
More ... not like the Govt to forgo the $7 for anyone.

From your link.. The $7 charge starts being charged in July 2015

We have a new bulk bill clinic opening here soon, which is good . Will be able to get some free visits in before July 2015.,
I already pay for myself and my husband to see the doctor, $30+ out of pocket. The kids have been bulk billed so I guess I will have to start paying for them.

I wouldnt be surprised if we see the bulk billing clinics charge all but health care card holders if they have the discretio

Ebay ate the rest of my post.....it went something like this....I wouldnt be surprised if we see the bulk billing clinics charge all but health care card holders if they have the discretion to waive the fee. They might lose some incentives by not charging it and it seems to come out of their own pocket. The government get the $5 by paying the doctors $5 less per consultation.

Re: THE BUDGET THREAD

I did read somewhere that if the GP chooses to waive that $7 fee then their payment is reduced from Medicare. It was last night that I read it. So it depends on whether your doctor wants to get all the money he's entitled to get for seeing bulk billed patients.

If he chooses not to charge that $7 he misses out on money.

If he does charge that $7 then he still gets his full payment but the patient is out of pocket.

I wish I could remember what site it was, it was one of those news.com sites I think, but this was last night.

Clive Palmer is a self-made billionaire he knows how to run a business and make money. I am sure he will make money for our country without penny pinching from old age pensioners. The problem with labor and liberal is they are in it for the money, it is a career path for them but not for Clive Palmer.  Clive donates 100% of his parliamentary wage to charity, he is interested in the country not the salary from being a politician.

No, he does not know how to run a big business... lots of his businesses he actually runs into the ground.

The Alco plant he bought had specific instructions so that he could not siphon off the cash into other areas of his private life because he is known to do that.

He knows how to buy well and manipulate funds. I think you need to do a lot more research into him.
