Actually, I cannot think of one single thing either. There are good things done by people who believe in God (by whatever name) but I would not say that they are done in "name of God" . The "name of God" is usually invoked when people are being asked to do something particularly bad, cruel and altogether against any teaching of religion.

I am not of the God squad but the very fact that you can all say your piece here & on the street ect is because of some of the beliefs of the God squad over the years.
Wether this is a good or bad thing I am still considering. 🙂

hence my earlier post.

Not a lot of good things done in the name of God outside of war come to mind. Usually when it is a good thing the person or people like to take the credit and God is forgotten.
Such is the way of humanity
I think many great works have been done in the name of God, think of Mother Teresa for one.

Actually Mother Teresa ain't the best example. She did the poor no favours and made them suffer. All the millions given to her didn't go to those who needed the most. She was actually an Atheist.

It's kinda speculative as God is to most people but many musicians and artists alike claim their artwork is inspired by God as you kinda stated in the OP.
The Bible itself written by men yes but claimed to have been inspired by God. Like it or hate it there are more copies in circulation than any other book in history.
Does modern day Isreal count? Correct me if I'm wrong but alot of Isrealis claim that the land of Isreal/Palestine was promised to them by God.

Then did God then brake his promise?

Australia's Father Bob has been helping the disadvantaged for years and also he believes in God .
He and his 'Hope Mobile' and other community efforts have done good and he says
"If I've reassured people that God wants to join them, I'll be grateful. Wherever good is, God is.
No pressure from him to join him in his faith ...he is helping them regardless

here is another good thing which has religious input..
Almost all the Karen people who have come to Bendigo come from rural backgrounds and are used to growing the food they eat.
Some Karen are able to grow vegetables in their gardens, but most Karen live in rental properties and cannot dig up the lawns to replace them with vegetable gardens.
Instead many Karen have joined projects to grow vegetables in community gardens. There are community gardens at Quarry Hill, St Andrew's Uniting Church, and Harcourt Park.
Involvement in community gardens has benefits including:
Karen community celebrates love and forgiveness
BENDIGO’s Karen community invites people to its annual wrist-tying festival today.
Visitors to the free festival at St Andrew’s Uniting Church hall in Myers Street will find a colourful spectacle of traditional Karen food, dancing, and singing, culminating in a wrist-tying ceremony at 12.25pm.
The wrist-tying ceremony symbolises the renewal of bonds in families and the community, where white string is tied to the wrist and worn for three days.
Bendigo Karen monk, Venerable Ashin Moonieinda, said that by celebrating this tradition Karen people remembered their culture and beautiful traditions, respected each other and forgave each other for mistakes.
“Everybody makes mistakes in one’s life,” he said.
“Forgiveness is one of the best solutions in life.”

Rubbish! she made them suffer? she fed them, clothed them, gave them health care. People of all faith, not just her own.
