It's possible that these two have now been 'radicalised' or, could now be demonstrating symptoms of the Stockholm syndrome given how long they were in 'captivity'.

It will be some time before the truth of the whole matter emerges, but either way, they did not show any adult maturity or intelligence going to such a country, particularly when the woman was pregnant (if that's true) ....
