from today's newspaper.
Tania Herman, who's serving at least nine years' jail for attempted murder, has applied to "marry" fraud Nicole Muscat.
As revealed on heraldsun.com.au yesterday, if Corrections Victoria approves the application, the two inmates hope to hold a commitment ceremony inside Tarrengower Women's Prison in May.
Mrs Korp, 50, was choked by Herman until she lost consciousness, then dumped in the boot of her car near the Shrine of Remembrance.
She was found, barely alive, four days after the February 2005 attack on her at her home in Mickleham. Mrs Korp died six months later, after being taken off life support.
Herman received a discounted sentence after she agreed to give evidence against Mrs Korp's husband, Joe. He committed suicide while awaiting trial.
How can this even be considered? She's only got a year to serve (mind boggling as that is) why not just wait?

Good combination - a person in jail for attempted murder and a fraudster.

Should not be news and should not be allowed, nor condoned.

it's a shame for the family of Maria Korp who have to hear these things on the news.

have to wonder if one of them was a man would they have a headline "Plans to marry heterosexual lover".
I can't stand this type of sensationalism, the fact that they are lesbians is nothing to do with anything aside from the fact it would not be a marriage anyway as it is not allowed in this "progressive country." so the headline is not only over the top but incorrect and a ploy to further alienate gay and lesbian people.
as for the story this should not be allowed no matter who they are

It sounds like attention seeking to me and the news people have been suckered in big time.
Stories like this should have been promoted to the rubbish bin, not the paper.
