Tasmania's economy is a green labor basket case and the state is bankrupt and dependent on wealfare from the rest of Australia to survive.
An interesting article thats actually true about Tasmania written by David Leyonhjelm
Having once lived there, I know Tasmania is a pleasant place to live. But so is Greece. And if Tasmania was an independent country, it would be in more trouble than Greece.
There was quite a lot of discussion about this in 2013. A good summary came in an article by Jonathan West, director of the Australian Innovation Research Centre and a resident of Tasmania, who described the state as follow: “Tasmania ranks at the bottom among Australian states on virtually every dimension of economic, social, and cultural performance
Tasmania is also a mendicant state, highly reliant on the rest of the country. It generates about a third of its state budget, the rest being GST allocations and specific purpose payments from the commonwealth.
GST and income tax originating within the state fall well short of what it receives, meaning the government effectively receives welfare from the rest of the country.
When the NSW economy goes into recession, one of the consequences is less money for Tasmania.
This is on top of the higher proportions of welfare that Tasmanian individuals receive
The rest of the interesting article can be read here and its a very good read...... http://catallaxyfiles.com/2014/03/07/david-leyonhjelm-tasmania-a-province-of-victoria/
So should Tasmania become a province of Victoria?
That is if Victoraia would want a green/labor bankrupt basket case that is Tasmania as part of it

I know exactly what you mean Amber. I too have worked with some that are just a pain and they know it and do it just to make life miserable for others. One was a violinist, it took 3 days to get a 12 minute track on tape. He does not realise just how close he came to having his bow inserted in a place the sun don't shine (even thought he thought it rose and set there)..............sideways.

errr
I was a violinist...that is how I met my celebrities. Just wondering if the insertable chap was one of "my" celebrities...😳
I preferred spontaneity and naturalness over a note by note edit. Sounds so much better, even with the odd wrong note.

I would say yes 🙂
A very well known pain with a reputation spanning many countries.

Aha
but two spring to mind. NK. IP.
although, if it is one of them, then he was the one whom I heard as a tiny tot and thought, I would like to do that...

There was one composer who "composed" "music" that was nothing but a jangle of cacophony sounds with no rhyme or reason we had great "fun" in inserting all sorts of sound effects into his 'Creations' and even some of his own stuff played backwards.
He never cottoned on hahahah
No doubt you would know that one too

Either of them could buy Tasmania on the easy payment plan 🙂

I find it sad to see some people with great talent go down that "precious" path and make a twit of themselves.

hmmmm
that has an ambiguity to it
I did, that is, take up the violin, reasonably successfully.
he was not one of my personal celebrities as such. There was another, now very successful, who was for a while...as it where.
he was rather in the same league emotionally 😞
