.....for four hours or so. Was told it affected over 24,000 in Bunbury area. and was  "a hardware issue". ......Hhhmmm.

Did a Dr GeeWhiz and discovered that people in towns and cities all 'round Australia have been reporting same since end Oct 2014 into Nov.

Anyone else experienced same?

What reasons were you given?

Yes during the Black Saturday fires of 2009.  Some of the telephone exchanges burnt down and the mobile phone networks were overloaded

My internet connection was dropping out intermittently all this morning. It seems to be OK now, so fingers crossed.

*answering hesitatingly because I think I might be buying into another conspiracy theory*

The power went out in our entire shire on Melbourne Cup day. Went off about 20 minutes before the race and can back about 15 minutes after. Created havoc in the pubs and clubs. We all sat outside listening on car radios.
Don't know what the reason was.
