The remnants of that case of beer that's been sitting in the garage for "oh, it can't be that long, can it?" have gone to enrich the compost.
I had thought, seeing as it was such a lovely day, that I might have a beer. It's been a while since I've had one.
Okay, the best part of a year...
I dragged the box out from under the bench, dusted it off and to my surprise found two six packs. Well, no worries, that should see me through the Summer just nicely. Or so I thought...
Beer, it seems, doesn't keep, or maybe this is a special brew know for it's characteristic overpowering stench of sulphur, as it ages...
I'm sure in time to come the garden will love me for it.
It's a timely reminder to check the use-by date, especially on things that have lain forgotten over the Winter.

Dash it all! I was just too slow. I was going to say that!
I'll confidently say the answer is honey, even at the risk of being wrong.

I once kept a pasty I bought (in its sealed plastic bag) for a very long time, many, many months, at least half a year or more and when I eventually threw it away it still looked just the same as the day I bought it. Not a spot of mold.
