If your bank details are registered with Medicare you can claim over the phone if your refund is under $100?
I'd been putting off traipsing to the Medicare office for 3 months. If I knew you could claim over the phone I wouldn't have had this 'must go to Medicare' in my head for months.

That's what I know. It is automatic at the doctor's surgery. Don't have to sign anything.

I found out today too. I visited a Medicare office to change my surname and I registered my Bank Acc. number with them. Handy huh?

But always remember to check your bank account to ensure that the payment has been deposited.

My local doctor has the facilities for your Medicare refund to go straight back into your bank account but the claim I did over the phone was for a specialist I saw who didn't have the technology for this.
At the time I audibly groaned when the specialists receptionist told me I'd have to take my invoice to Medicare.

Yes, but only certain item numbers. Usually your standard GP consultations.
