Your right Az VZV was given at 18 months (its MMR given at 12 months and 4 years) but the child still contracted chickenpox and recovered naturally, so why another dose at 13 years? Supposedly for those that havent had the disease? Yet there is nothing on the consent form that says if your child has had chickenpox you do not need to have this vaccination.

My 7yo GD had her MMR in separate doses in the UK, she was not able to have them at 4 yo here the same way, so she hasn't had the MMRV. (and won't be having them)

I had both of my children vaccinated - all when due as expected and because I wanted them protected, but if either had a bad reaction I would certainly have re-thought giving them any more without seriously researching it.

It was the DONE thing back then (27 & 19 years ago) and we were made to feel like bad parents if a child was not immunised.

Is it still the same in schools etc, if a parent can't prove certain immunisations for a child they can be excluded from activities etc? I am sure that was the case way back when.

I'd love to see seperate doses for vaccines, but of course you cant get them seperated here I wonder why that is? Do you have any idea Az?

I think Meryl Dorey is a bad advocate for non immunising groups.

She does seem to have a very bad reputation.  Although show me one anti vaxxer with a good reputation... And I was wrong in a previous post she is no longer president of the AVSN a guy by the name of Greg Beattie is and has been since 1 Jan 2013.  

Cost effective??? As if the people that would like the vaccination administered in seperate doses give a toss about the cost of the **bleep** thing urgh.

Exactly, if my GD was going to have it, she was going to NZ or back to the UK as it is not allowed here.

Reputation aside, I think Meryl is her own worst enemy, her statements are quite outrageous sometimes.

The problem with anyone supporting the non-vaccination of children is that they use data like organisations such as VAERS in a manipulative way.

The fact is that the VAERS report is an unverified raw data report. That means that if a child dies of a siezure caused by already diagnosed epilepsy and that child has had a vaccination within the last year, then the death will be recorded on the VAERS data base. Or if an 18month old dies of cot death within a year of vaccination, then the death is recorded on the data base.

It is RAW data.

The website is very cautious and diligent in making you aware that the data is raw and they are making no claims that vaccinations are connected to death or health issues affecting the babies.

In actual fact there is no documented case anywhere in the world where an accurate dose vaccination has caused the death of a baby. Oh sure, you will find a whole lot of "reported" cases but once you start to wind your way backward to find the origins of these stories, it turns out that they all have single information origins.

Ironically, adult deaths through vaccination do occurr and are reported. But babies get the sympathy vote don't they?

My brother in law's baby son died from SIDS the very night following his immunisation. He was a normal, healthy baby.

They did not consider it connected in any way.
