The Avo Saver

Time for a new topic I'm sick of the constantly regurgitated ones.

I eat lots of avocados, at least 4-5 a week. Sometime I just use a half one on toast for breakfast. The other half I just put in a lidded plastic dish in the fridge, no worries,  but then I found this little item at a well-known supermarket recently:

Looks a bit like a duck's sandal :^O

I think I got mine in Coles but it was a while ago.  I'm pretty sure Woolies had them too.

I put them cut side down (seed taken out) on moist paper towel on a plate and cover with glad wrap and store in the fridge. They last really well like that.

I have seen those to, and wondered if they would be any good, or just another plastic thing to wash.

I usually put the left over half in alum foil in the fridge but tend to forget about it and it gets past it.

Woolies have them and you will find them in the Fruit and Veg section.

MMM I love avocados, I'll keep an eye out for one of those things Icy

we use them as a spread, in salads , with chicken and my lot even  just cut them in half, take out the stone and pour in salad dressing or lemon juice with pepper and just spoon them out.

They seem to be coming into season here, the price has been dropping, but gosh tomatoes are expensive here ATM  😮

There is a shortage of tomatoes due to bad growing conditions in QLD, they are expensive here too.

I saw a sign in a cafe (one that makes sandwiches) saying they may not always have tomatoes available.
