The End of the World Today

http://www.theage.com.au/national/its-the-end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it--apparently-20151007-gk3kt9...

If you wake on the morning of October 8, then you should consider yourself lucky – you survived a would-be apocalypse.

An American cult, the eBible Fellowship, had predicted with glee that October 7 would see the world "pass away" in a ball of fire.

This is despite an earlier deathly prediction that the world would end on May 21, 2011. In case you are aware, the world is still hanging around.

The Philadelphia-based group had come up with the prediction based on the interpretation of the Bible by its leader, Chris McCann. On its website, it's claimed October 7 this year would be the end of the world because it was when the world had reached "10,000 overall days of judgment" and also because it is the last day of the "Feast of Tabernacles".

Goodbye, I'll see some of you in heaven:)

Re: The End of the World Today

So do I renew my Driver's Licence for 1 year, 3 years or 5 years?  Will I get a refund if the period is shortened by the Ending?

Re: The End of the World Today

You could be right there Julia, because if the asteroid Apophis hits the earth which it just might do around about that time, then it will make one heck of a mess.     Life may go on in some form, but for humans, maybe not.

Re: The End of the World Today

I remember many moons ago that there was a tidal wave predicted by some crackpot to wash away Adelaide, and the Premier of the day (Don Dunstan) was on the balcony of a pub in Glenelg calming the assembled masses.  Some residents had fled to the hills lol.

And all this fear was whipped up without the "benefit" of social media ...

Re: The End of the World Today

You may not have said anything about an asteroid, but it's something that is happening in reality around the time you have mentioned,  but you didn't say why you thought 2030 was going to be "the end of the world".

The asteroid will hopefully miss the earth, the scientific/astronomical tracking is relatively good.

"Sermon of the Seven Suns" is intereresting, if I remember correctly, it came from the Buddha.  Like any other prediction of that nature though, I'm not convinced.

Science is more meaningful to me.

The ants are swarming, today.

Yesterday I could not have told you that they would do that.

Nature works in it's own time.

A comet, a plague, a Global conflagration, when it is time it will come, and no amount of staring at tea leaf patterns or consulting computer generated charts will help.

In the meantime, I will continue to be grateful for the privilege of knowing you all, today, regardless of what tomorrow may bring.

Absolutely right ecar xx, no argument from me there.

For me, it has to be, at the very least, information based on what is as far as possible, genuine and open to copious scrutiny.
