Re: The Fishing Thread

Nice pic back there pimpy--that was a keeper-no need for a ruler.

Joe re swing the pole and casting--lot easier when you build your own.

Fishing is an art form and funny at times.

My old man fished off jetties etc in WA.

He would wait for a tyre kicker to came along and ask--caught any yet?

The reply was --well if i get the one biting now and 2 more-i will have 3.

His other favourite reply was--just had a fish break off -got it to the surface-

weighed 738 grams.

--How do you know what it weighed?----could tell from the scales on its back lol.

He is long gone now -but i have some great memories..............Richo.

Re: The Fishing Thread

Hi LL-dont clip on links -but i tried that one--clicked myself into a corner.

Turned the puta off and on to get back here--must learn how its done.

Another species seen in the Yarra is the Blind Mullet.

Noticed down stream from camping areas in the summer.

Lots assemble in ponds at Werribee-hard to catch on hook and line.

A Gippsland version reside at Dutsun Downs...............................Richo.

Re: The Fishing Thread

i know what you mean about the links to newspapers , sometimes they won't let you out.

in SA where i'm from we have the furry mullet in estuaries and at the odd nude beach like maslins.  i caught a cod on a nightline in the murray with a murray cray (like a marron , brown with white spots on its back ) it was a big fish but the old man told me to let it go (i was 12 or so) because he said it was poor eating. we had callop instead. Re: The Fishing Thread

LL-the blind mullet use different hights in the flow.

Ones on high fibre float on the top-others are sinkers.

Not real good eating--but in my working life-have been -force fed a few......Richo.
