The God of Small Things.

Has anyone else read this?      Booker Prize winner 1997.

I'm halfway through and i don't know if I love it or hate it.

The prose is  exquisite  but i do find   it confusing.with all the characters and time changes.

Oh  yes   the movie  was  wonderful  with those  2 actors.   I read somewhere  that his character had autism.   I don't remember knowing  that but it would probably   explain a lot.  .

Tas totally agree about  authors waffling on  at times and how tiresome it is.    To me it's a bit like them saying  look  how brilliantly  I    write  even  if  it  has nothing to do  with the story.   🙂

Whilst I agree that Autism might have been a possibility, given his father's diligence to the master and his duties, his son would have been raised is exactly the same way. It was the only life he had/ would ever know.  The scene where he releases the pigeon to freedom, then stands looking at though the window, says it all.
