Love the magic carpet, thanks for picking me up!!

Had an interesting morning. Worked my morning shift and then attended the graveside funeral of one of our former residents, still in uniform.
Unexpectedly found myself being asked by celebrant and family if I would speak during the service on behalf of our hostel.
Even though I had no warning, the words came easily and I was able to share some fond memories from the past 18 months as one of John's carers, and bring some comfort to the family at this sad time. I also appreciated learning about John's life before he came to live with us at our hostel.
