Sorry to hear that Loveto. It sounds like you're not in a very good place at the moment.
How did Miss's doctor's appointment go yesterday? |
Thanks for asking she_ele
Appointment was not that good really. She is nowhere near as recovered from her chronic pain, as we thought she was. She will need med's for further 9 - 2 mo's at least.
We lowered her med's dose two wks ago, to see if the side effects reduced, but still kept her pain under control - it was a resounding failure. So she's back on the higher dose now & waiting for the pain to subside again.
Pain Specialist gave some tips to try, regarding spreading out the dose through the day, & taking maxalon with each dose.
She had a blood test on Thurs, as she's also had some breathlessness & is tired all the time. I suspect her iron will be low, so that will be something else for me to work on with her.
He said stress can be a big factor with side effects, as the nerves have stress receptors, & don't process the stress very well. He said the stress doesn't even have to be the conscious type, just even having to be at school, be certain places at certain times, could be bad enough for some patients.
Mentally, she is doing ok, but tremendously frustrated about the backflip with her health. She started school again for this year, & was doing well for the 1st 4 - 5 wks.
Now, she is increasingly worried about the interruption to her education - she just wants to go to school, be normal, actually do something. It's a rather heartbreaking thing for a kid who loves school, & loves HER school ,& is well-loved & is a good contributor.
