Why not to pasturize- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzx2dY6mW5A

In 1987 the FDA banned interstate shipping of raw milk and today it's retail sale is only legal in dozen or so states. There's a very devoted group who believe that pasteurized milk is "dead milk" and are fighting to make it easier to buy. Raw milk has such a following that people form secret clubs or buy portions of a cow in order to circumvent state laws regulating its sale.

In March of 2010, Idaho made things just a bit easier for producers of raw milk. A small-herd exemption was passed that allowed farmers with 7 or fewer goats or sheep and 3 or fewer cows to produce raw milk or raw milk products for human consumption.

Oh, dear.  You take real problems, then twist them into disaster.  Or just twist them, or even better create problems where there are none.

Aspartame is not very good for you, just as are number of other things we eat.  There are toxins in everything in nature too.  Plants release toxins to protect themselves from predators.  We all know that potatoes when turn green and/or sprout contain alkaloid solanine.  Pips in apples and kernels in peaches, apricots etc.  contain cyanide-containing molecule.  If eaten enough can kill you.

I am sick of totally spoiled selfcentred selfish people who demand 'freedom and choice" for themselves, but in process trample freedom of everybody around them.  Most people by the age of about 4 start realising that they are not the centre of the universe, that they are part of society an that mean give and take, and safety of the whole society takes precedence over uneducated whims of few.

agreed.

i think it's modern natural selection. if a mum feeds her toddler unpasteurised bathmilk she should not breed. after all humans select for intelligence (even though aussies seem to select for physical strenght but that's not the point).

You won't make yourself popular with that comment.

Saying someone should not be allowed to breed is very un PC. But very true !

It gets some funny looks from people when you say it in public about someone.

We now give "Darwin awards" when someone dies through stupidity by themselves or via someone else.

...actually most people shouldn't breed.

not because they are barely intelligent enough to be recognised as "humans" rather than primates but because earth is full enough.

everyone is doctoring around on the symptoms (hunger, scarcety of arable land because there are houses built on it) than to adress the real problem which is overpopulation.

if the world population was 1 million there would be no global warming, no acidifaction of the ocean etc.

but, NOOOOO people still breed like rabbits and a woman who does not want children is deemed "irresponsible" and "odd" what the?!!!!

Dogs are scavengers, their digestive system can handle pathogens that humans cannot, or at least they can handle higher levels of contamination before they get sick.

My dog ate a great big work sock today.  You know those ones worn under steel toe boots?

I don't think too many pathogens because it had just been through the washing machine.

I think we should cross thread here.

If a bottle of  unpasteurised milk is put in the same kind of bottle as pasteurised milk and is placed in the same chiller then how is a new immigrant or a tourist from a different non English speaking country supposed to tell the difference?

Do you have to learn how to speak Mandarin before visiting China on a three day stay to go to a wedding?

Look at it another way, we visit Japan for a 3 - 5 day shopping trip.

Well, if you don't want to drink just Coke and Eat KFC, it is probably advisable to learn a little bit of the lingo

so you know the difference between Fugu and Tofu !

They both sound similar, both taste bad but one can kill you if incorrectly prepared ! Smiley LOL
