The Shroud of Turin

I am part way through reading a fiction book featuring The Shroud, and it has sparked my curiosity.

What do you know?

What do you think?

Me? I want to believe that it is real, but I'm not convinced one way or the other just yet, but I am interested in discussing it with anyone else interested in doing so.

For something of such historical significance to truly exist would be amazing.

Jesus was a spiritual teacher, like Buddha. But his teachings were misinterpreted and distorted by his followers into religious ideology. So Jesus the man became Jesus the god, with special powers.

Glad you mentioned the "greasy walls", John.  Have you had a chance

to find out what caused it as per our last discussion on the topic?

I provided you with the scientific test results.  Have you had a chance

to do some research to disprove the findings?

and I still haven't managed to get there 😞

LOL Az - I'll have a look for it - but I wasn't actually looking for a book on the Shroud when I selected it - I like crime novels, I was in that section of the book store, and the blurb on the back sounded promising.

haha, I wasn't suggesting you should. I am going to download a sample of your one and check it out but.... it is about $18 for the kindle version 😮 and I am not sure if it would be a good read for me. I lose interest fairly fast.

A highly probable take on Jesus Moon light. It's interesting how urban legends evolve. The more time it went by with Jesus the more amazing the feats of Jesus and more extradinary his miracles.

GB: "if you have faith in your religion, evidence doesn't matter."

I agree GB, but would add that their is no credible evidence of any deity. One might as well argue that images in a cheese topping, potato crisp, or greasy walls are evidence to support

a desperate need for confirmation.

Oh, just realised I'm GB. Let me make it easier for ya Morman.  B - O- B.

Thanks for the link.  Just finished watching the video.  Very interesting.  I am surprised

that what he proposed (dead body experiment) has not been explored yet.

What were the misinterpretations?

You know what surprises me. If you really want evidence for the existence of Jesus.  Jesus apparently performed hundreds of miracles, witnessed by thousands, he claimed to be God, so obviously any authorities would've payed attention to any claim. He taught so many, Yet there's not one single contemporaneous record of him, NOT ONE. Why is there not one document of Jesus' writing if he taught so much? And the Romans's are meticulous at record keeping yet nothing.

I suspect a person called Jesus actually existed. But if you're going to claim he died and then bodily resurrected or walked on water or converted water into wine, a thread of evidence would be nice.

What makes you think that?  Was it a popular name?   ?:|
