This morning I was rather surprised to read a headline on Google News (from ABC Online, no less) the following headline. Boys on ADHD medication 'growing slower'
On reading the article I discovered that, no, boys weren't starting to slow down either mentally or in their physical activities - what they were doing was growing more slowly.
Slightly peeved at this affront to the English language.reatly daring I sent them an email suggesting that someone point out to the journalist the difference between growing slower and growing more slowly. This evening I had another look at Google News and guess what it now says .............................Boys on ADHD medication 'growing more slowly'

But it is true, the medication that my grandson takes, he is only 8yrs, he barely eats, he is so thin and it is all due to the medication.
Fortunately he goes back to the dr. tomorrow for new meds, as his dr. says he is too thin, and anyway they didnt work on the ADHD, just suppressed his appetite.

Well done SheEle 🙂 🙂
If medication does not work, it is either not being administered correctly or the child does not have ADHD.
Any doctor worth his credentials will advise parents to give the medication 'with' food so there is no chance for it to dull the appetitie.
And the medication needs perpetual tweaking because as the child grows, the dose changes.

I'm with you on this one.
There is a university (deliberate small u) that is currently advertising that you can "study and live local". I almost go through the roof each time I hear it.

Some meds for kids that have ADHD Prim.......do not work on every child. Like adults, all kids are different, the med mygrandson is on suppresses the appetitie, but the dr. doesnt know this when he gives the child the meds, only time gives an indication.
My grandson took his with food as well, food.......can be a slice of bread, glass of milk, anything, doesnt mean it will work on the child.
It is all a chance when it comes to meds and kids with ADHD.
