I think it's a bit sick that anyone thinks virginity is the greatest gift.
Odd analogy.
awwww.....i think its sweet when a young couple
feels that way. i watched a documentary recently
about young people with similar views - yes very odd
these days but 'sick' - not what came to mind..
(is postmenopause linked with hopeless romanticism? )

yes really, that was exactly how they saw each
other - as gifts to one another - both, not just
females. it was really sweet.

you raise a good point there Az
Julia I don't remember and I don't really care who was interviewing him on radio, the point to me was here was this man who gave up a child for adoption at the age of 19, acting like some public moral compass. It just seemed hypocrtical to me.
He can advise his daughters however he likes in private, but it's not up to him to give moral advice to women in the community especially when he himself received and took advantage of "gifts"

you may not care but you should know by now
how most posters here feel about unsubstantiated
claims.
can't prove it - didn't happen.

what unsubstantiated claims?? Everyone knows it's fact he gave up a child for adoption at the age of 19
also your idea that he only said what he said because he was being interviewed by Women's Weekly... what are you inferring by that?? that he only says what people want him to hear? the words actually came out of his own mouth on radio, it wasn't just some article in a gossipy women's mag.
I always remember abbott saying 'not to believe everything he says" I'll try and find it for you if you like
