The recovered and anti-bodies

My understanding is that if a person has recovered from a virus , then their blood will have natural anti-bodies that kill the virus , of at least the same strain , so as such blood donated for transfusions from survivors should be helpful in fighting the infection by suffering recipients

This procedure is now done in China  - is this therapy being used here ? I noticed that locally 3 have fallen victim now.

The recovered and anti-bodies

I read something to the effect that they are not sure yet if people can re-catch the corona virus. It seems there has been a case of someone who had it, recovered, then got it again.

You would think that their blood would have had some antibodies from the first dose. Maybe their second round of illness was less intense? I don't know.

It is sounding as if some people are not badly affected by the virus at all, while in others it can be really serious. I guess a bit like the flu really.

But apparently there was  a case where a person was diagnosed as recovered, given the all clear and sent home, only to die two days later.   Apparently the experts, still cant figure out if the virus is (Bi Something or other) meaning a person can be infected more than once.

There are two strains and you can get them both. They are constantly mutating as well, so reports tell us that it is possible to identify the location that the person was infected by studying the mutation.

Yeah, I am a bit like that,  but now everyone reckons there coming to my place to ride it out.

I might have to impose a toilet paper entry fee, and if they bring there own van/tent then they can camp down the back paddock

somewhere.

You aren't immune to all viruses after having them once. Take the people who get cold sores and shingles (a particular strain of the herpes virus) - they often get them again and again once they've had them the first time. That means once it's in the body you're even more susceptible to it.

It'd be stupid to inject blood from survivors of the virus into others because that might just spread it faster. Prevention is far better than cure and people would be better to make sure they eat properly to strengthen their immune systems.

Stress suppresses the immune system so worrying about it won't help - if we get it, we get it; if we die, we die. There's no point in expecting the worst and making ourselves sick over it because it may never happen. Just do the best we can and get on with life.

One needs to keep ones lymphatic system working effectively - so brisk activitiy or induced vibrations is paramount - couch potatoes will suffer worse , all things being equal.
