Kilroy, I don't think anyone here has a problem with the AFP raiding the houses of suspected terrorists. If the raids prove successful and terrorists are convicted nd taken off the streets then I will be the first to say "Well done,"
However, given their track record, I don't have blind faith in the AFP getting things right, and if, along with a handful of genuine terrorists, a lot of innocent people are arrested, interrogated, thrown in gaol and have to spend their life savings on proving their innocence before finally being acquited, then the exercise may well end up breeding more terrorists than it saves us from.

So does anyone know how many were arrested and how many are in custody?

2 were arrested.
One for having an unlicensed firearm. He has been released. So obviously he wasn't deemed scary enough a terrorist.
Another for suspected terrorist activities. He had his sword confiscated and is currently still being detained for further questioning.
What I would like to know is how the media knew exactly where the raids were taking place. So well positioned were they that they were able to take some solid photos of the 'arrests'. Co-incidence?

Really makes you wonder if all the efforts of over 800 law enforcement officers only leads to 2 minor charges.

Pretty quiet in the low-level air space in Bunbury - usually. But we had a helicopter or two do regular sweeps over most of our residential areas/properties for a few hours near the middle of the day on Thursday.I checked with friends living North of Eaton, before Australian and they reported same activity. Maybe it was a training exercise..... Anyone else experience this where they live?
Seems like HARMONY DAY was not quite around Australia?

Allow me to make a suggestion ..... you can tear me apart if you wish.
If the Muslim's in general are serious about being peaceful they could easily find those who are a threat to Australia and deal with them, otherwise, they are condoing their behaviour.

they are protesting against the raids.

I just saw them on the news, that needs to be dealt with.
