So nothing to worry about then? we can all feel safe and our property and lives are not under threat? So the police raids were a waste of money and was done simply to harrass and frighten the peace loving people in our community.
I feel so much better now...not.

I think we should be worried, because so much divsion and hatred has now been created amongst the Australian community. We're not used to seeing that & it's not the Australia that I know and love

In the pre-dawn light yesterday they swooped. With helicopters hovering overhead, dozens of police raided homes across Sydney and Brisbane.Operation Appleby had broken open the single largest cell of Islamic State sympathisers in Australia and had almost certainly thwarted a terrorist attack.
So, with helicopters hovering overhead 870 police officers (presumably in riot gear and with guns drawn, forced their way into the homes of 27 sleeping families, detained 17 men eventually charged just one and probably seriously alienated hundreds.
don't forget the press were also invited to come along and watch all this She-ele
I think now that the whole thing was just an expensive scam
the one person who was charged, do we actually know what he was charged with yet??
" I think now that the whole thing was just an expensive scam"
Are you saying that the whole Hammerhead operation is and was a scam. Please reply to this question. An expensive scam??
because from all the replies, excuses and sympthising for these suspects that we have read on here have we at last got the knub of what most of you really think? it was a scam?
If it was as you say "an expensive scam" please enlighten us to the reason for this "scam" and why it was carried out.

it was carried out to hopefully catch terrorists (though I'm noty sure that it did)
to garner support for sending troops to Syria
a boost in the polls (don't think that happened either)
& a few other things

Be aware, be very aware that claims made by Australian politicians, police and media in recent days about alleged terrorist activity might well turn out to be plain wrong or at least over-cooked. This is because there is a history in this country in recent years of hyperbole, sensationalism, paranoia and misconstruing of conversations and activities when it comes to reporting on and about Australia's anti-terror laws.
