today is the first time I've heard of any Australian school having a bomb proof wall, Yes, I find it disturbing too

do you have any links about specific bomb threats or is this the school that had the school bus incident??
is it the same school that had the school bus incident or not? & do you have any proof of any bomb threats made to the school where tax payers have funded a bomb proof wall?
I guess it would be interesting to know how they are being
assessed to receive the tax payer funded grants.
you dont think the bus incident would have been a
good enough reason for a bomb proof wall?
what would you accept as a justified reason for
tax payers to fund this extra security for our schools?

I can't even find the original thread to see the context of the original posts She=ele

I think it was using the word Jewish School, rather than Private School that caused the problem, Deb .It was like waving a red rag in front of a bull to some posters - they became so fixated on that one word that they failed to understand the point you were really making.
wasn't the point that we couldn't afford it and had to
tighten our belts but now that more schools are receiving
these grants - we can afford it?

Julia, that is not what I said
I merely asked if it was the same school that had the bus incident and I never got a reply.
if you can keep my posts in their true context as I believed that only one school had recieved this funding. it makes sense and theres no need to re-hash the same comments over and over again

yes, I did say that but in the context that ONLY ONE school had recieved funding & I wanted to know why?

ok, regardless. i'm still interested how the
assessments are being made and what you think -
or anyone else for that matter - what would be a good enough reason?
would the bus incident be enough for example.

I think it is fair now & worthwhile as the grants went to more than one school. I see the merit in itBut you saw "no merit" in protecting those Jewish children then. You wanted the money to go to welfare recipients.
Where is there any reference to welfare recipients?
There is none. That is an assumption.

The original comment was that the Jews could afford their own protection and taxpayers money would be better spent on welfare top ups or hand outs to the homeless.

As a one off grant ( granted in. 2012) to a number of schools, that makes it a fair thing Imo
Think I already said that someway back when someone posted a link to the grants
It can't have been in response to some hassling that occurred this year if that's the case.
