I think they have been charged only as yet? rules shouldn't be different, nor did I say they should. However, they are not in prison atm and your OP, which I was replying to, says "convicted"

No, if found guilty, the police involved should NOT be in solitary confinement, where they are protected from the general prison population.  Their life would be hell in the general population system.
