I know Az. I'm just waiting until I find out which mod is on duty tonight before I decide whether to play up. If it's the one that keeps giving me a final warning I will have to go to bed early.

Hi Wol ♥ I still have a look in regularly but as you have said its changed oh soooo much form the good old fun days
on 08-11-2014 02:21 PM
What's changed is the number of people who post. Back in the olden days there were enough people posting to keep pretty much all of the forums alive, with posts flying in both RT and CW. The changes to the forums drove a huge amount of regulars away with only a small fraction of new posters taking their place. The mods are better than what we had back then but I doubt if this place will ever come close to what it once was. Also, facebook, twitter etc allow for a less restrictive online interaction. It is nice when old CWers drop by for a visit..

Obviously I'm a 'noob' so could ya please explain this bit
The mods are better than what we had back then
In what way do you consider them better? Does anybody else
agree with this?
Just askin' - not looking to cause any trouble.
Thread title should allow for some discusssion on this..

I think these mods are more reasonable about what constitutes a breach of the rules,
always willing to listen and give the benefit of the doubt in some circumstances,
mail appears to be more educational than what it was................very few slaps handed out these days for minor breaches.

i used to get notified when a post/posts were removed and why.
Not so anymore. Unless it's a major blunder.
I now know to stay away from cartoon ads (lol) and to bite my
tongue on quite a few occasions.
I type out all my frustrations, and then 9 times out of 10
will cancel the post.
Some do, however, get through my firewall

The majority of the Liveworld mods had very little understanding of the Aussie sense of humour or of the English language. They played favourites and were heavy-handed with some while others appeared to be untouchable. They were inconsistent and most were pretty clueless. There were exceptions, of course, but these were far and few between.
The Mods that we have now are much fairer and have more of a human touch unlike their predecessors who had the robotic touch. They listen and respond accordingly. A vast improvement.

IMO the old ones were very young or not Australian. I received a smack for stating what the ABC market research audience consisted of, all on public record. Of course it was in response to a bitter BPer.
Even now, some extremely innocuous posts are removed. Hard to understand.
