don't apologise, this bludget (as in bludging off the poor) is a disgrace. No amount of spin and lies can change that.

It gets worse the more you look....they will create more homelessness while cutting programmes that help.

The housing and homeless service improvement and sector support scheme, which provides grants for homelessness and community assistance, will also be reduced from $8m to $5m. The department has consolidated a number of different grant programs.

Indigenous housing development assistance under the strategic Indigenous housing and infrastructure program will also no longer be provided.

The five-year scheme helped renovate and replace housing in remote Indigenous communities, and was due to end in 2013 but has not been renewed in the current budget.

The program supported a range of building projects and provided $26.9m in infrastructure assistance in 2013.

It's awful and Boris you are right.  Speaking to a careers counsellor this morning that used to be involved in work for the dole and many other programs.  She was saying they are really concerned about the level of social issues that will arise, including homelessness. I am so worried for these people.  I wish I had the capacity to be able to help those who struggles so much.  Sigh*

I know what you mean, it's like the massive cuts to health, normally i wouldn't think about it that much but when you spend some time seeing the realities, talking to people who are ill, old or disabled (or all 3), then you can't stop worrying about them and whats going to happen in the future. I have a real feeling of dread.
