I always thought this kind of thing to be a bit of a tall story but ... meh!
Looks like it's totally possible to me now.
melbourne woman gives births days after discovering she was pregnant
What a shock!

I don't know why. It's not like she was in denial. She was still menstruating, no morning sickness, no significant weight gain, so no reason to suspect pregnancy.
Menstruation not possible, spotting can be.

It's a really nice story though. The young ppl look happy with their little boy. It'll make an interesting speech at his 21st.

HELL NO!
i have used contraception since i became 16 yo with a gap when I had no b/f. my hubby had to use condoms until I was "safe" using contraception again after a time not having a b/f.
IF there is anything fishy i buy a test.
Sorry, but using no contraception being in the 20-something and THEN being surprised when you get preggers is either the result of a mental disability AND the lack of information or ...well just plain stupid.
OR what I come to think of may be somewhat sensational. What did the newspaper pay her for that story?

polksaladallie,
There will probably be many other experts about this type of pregnancy and I have no doubt some with actual medical degrees.
Thanks for the links you put up.
None the less, it never ceases to amaze me how the medical fraternity has the intellectual capacity to package 'one fits all and all fits one' - syndrome. How nice and tidy!
Oh and to the .sss 0 poster;
I fell pregnant while on the pill. One of the saddest days of my life when I found out I had a miscarrage BTW.

You contracept and then when it sorta works you are unhappy about not having to have a child.
sorta confusing.
