I'm not on Facebook or Twitter or any of those social media things, there are not enough hours in the day .. :8}
I hate it with a passion too cat... a couple of years ago a member from here phoned me and asked if I was in London right now.
She knew I wasn't but someone pretending to be me contacted her through FB and said I was stuck in London after being robbed and could she send $2,000 so I could get home.
She said she would 'have to know where to send it' and shortly after the caller told her a pick up address... then she said she would ring the London police to see if that place was okay!
Needless to say the caller didn't make any more contact, but, as it happened the same group had hit a number of FB members at the same time and some of them had sent money...
It made the Sydney Morning Herald the next day and they were caught, so these types of sites are really not my scene. I do have a FB site but really I don't use it... should shut it down except my up-to-the-minute-thoroughly-modern-miss granddaughter is far more likely to answer me there than in an email... grrrrrr
