I love raspberries.
My last trifle was made with raspberries and fresh berries but why are they so expensive at Christmas?

My grandma ruined a perfectly good Christmas trifle with too much sherry.
And I mean waaayyy too much sherry
The kids really didn't like it. Me either!!

Sounds good Lurker. I don't usually go for desserts much myself but I just can't say no to trifle.

lolol!! you're right, lurker! i was thinking merkin on that one ,lol!
joono, yes,it's fermented then clarified, like most liqueurs or cordials. you need to make it in summer, and store it in a dry cool place for about 4 months, then clarify it and store it in the same place as before.
i'll pull it up and post it in the morning,as long as i won't get in trouble for posting a recipe to make alcohol, lol!

My ex loves fried Christmas fruit cake with bacon and eggs. It sounds like a really weird combination but it does sort of work in a way. Maybe it's the sugar/salt combo.

This is the trifle I make at Christmas. It's made with gingerbread instead of lady fingers and the custard is made with egg nog instead of milk. I also put some nutmeg in my whipped cream.

Same Lurker. Blerk to apricot chicken but apparently it is making a comeback.
I like pork with apple sauce though and I love apple and cheese together.
