Time to move on

Every election time sees the Lib and Lab supporter on here having a go at eachother, but never before, on CS or the past CW board, have i seen it carry on and on and on after the election is over.

Its ridiculous.

Its done. Its over.

Let it go until the next election.

charter boat? what charter boat?

The plan fell apart, it's the Labor Party's fault.

ya know what I think?

IF these Peace talks in Burma actually work, then we should see a decrease in those seeking asylum, regardless of how they arrive. It will take a few years I reckon, but this new Burmese president seems pretty set on making things so that "his people" can return "home" and rebuild their communities and their lives.

I wish with every fibre of my being that this will happen. I know it will still be scary and rough for a while, but just maybe, maybe one day, they just might get their lives and "homes" back.

Maybe it will haoppen in time to help Mr Abbott's (audacious) plans, may be we won't see any real effects for a few more government changes, but whoever is leading us at the time, the victory will belong to the Burmese Government, not ours.

Once the Peace Agreements happen, then the real work will begion, and they will need a whole lot of support from the rest of the world  to rebuild their lives and communities.

or a 5 star restaurant.......

you know, the ones where you get the portion controlled sauces, plastic cutlery and the little wet wipes in foil packets inside your cardboard box?

Apparently that's the yardstick......

I don't believe the majority of posters discussing politics do trade insults with each other, some do. Those that don't shouldn't be put in the same basket with those that do. Just as not many bother to post long vitriolic attacks on past PM's or whoever.. they are the minority here.

I don't use Facebook.

This is interesting. All talk and no actual way of carrying it out?

16 DEC

Five unauthorised asylum boats have arrived in the past fortnight, compared to two in the previous fortnight.

But Mr Abbott said there was no doubt the Coalition would deliver on its election promise.

"Look, we will stop the boats, as simple as that,'' he said.

"And my message for the people-smugglers is `The game is up for you'.

"It doesn't matter what is happening on the ground in Indonesia on any one day, the game is up. The boats are stopping, and they will stop.

"We will do what is necessary to secure Australia's national interest. And it is absolutely in our national interest to secure our borders are 100 per cent secure.''

I do not report posts.

Far be it for me to wish to remove any posts which may show the poster in their best light. (Please note sarcastic tone.)

You be sure to have a nice day won't you? Perhaps a Bex, a cup of tea and a good lie down is in order.

Edit: this was meant to follow in response to polocross's post, not my own.

Pre election you were all enjoying the copy/paste, the cartoons, the denegrating comments about our first female Prime Minister, but now it's the Coalitions turn you want to hide the truth about the horror of the Abbott/Hockey/Turnbull/Pyne/Bishop mess.

Really?

well, if that's the motivation, its justified I guess.....

i stand by my comment ie i haven't seen these many political discussions in all the years.

a lot of it  are not even discussions.  thread titles are not indicative of political content..  the hover over feature would solve that problem.  topics that are not intended in anyway to be political, end up in political arguments.  These are just observations that I think many will agree with.
