The latest arrival of two vessels carrying 157 people takes the total number of illegal boats that have arrived on Labor’s watch past 700.
Over 42,000 people have arrived on 701 boats since the Rudd-Gillard Government dismantled the Howard Government’s border protection regime.
Labor’s decision to dismantle the Howard Government’s policies has put our country’s security at risk.
It has cost hundreds of lives lost at sea and resulted in thousands of people entering our communities without rigorous security checks.
Every illegal boat arrival cost Australians $12.8 million (on average) – and that’s money which could otherwise go to fund hospitals, roads and help repay debt.
It has seen border protection cost blowouts of more than $10 billion for a system that does not work – that’s money which could otherwise fund hospitals, roads and help repay debt.
Labor’s mismanagement has also included the detention of a convicted jihadist terrorist in low security family accommodation at Inverbrackie in South Australia.
This jihadist was a member of the terrorist organisation Egyptian Islamic Jihad, which merged with al Qaeda in 2001, many years before his arrival by boat.
With an average of 100 people now arriving every day, Australia cannot afford three more years of Labor failure.

yes that was it Meep.I just don't believe that there is one unified 'Australian look' as we are a multicultural country .
Do you think the boats can and should be stopped ?

Well then Iza, you should have realised that we were discussing either resembling or not resembling Middle Eastern appearance and I think I did use inverted commas when referring to 'Australian' appearence. If I didn't, I certainly should have.
In regards to the boats, I agree with our PM when she says we need to ensure the people smugglers have no product to sell. Also with our Immi and Citizenship Minister that our humanitarian intake should target those most in need; those vulnerable people offshore, not those getting on boats. I think they would be in a better position to make an informed decision.I don't have an answer but I am not going to criticise the proposed solutions without giving an alternative.

I would call 000 if there was a home invader. It has nothing to do with refugees seeking safety, in fact quite the opposite. Strange curriculum in bunker schools.
Millions of voters , as will be demonstrated at the next election, have been calling the Feral Government's 000 line for years but here is never any answer, jus a message saying "Give Us Your Money"

It was interesting to watch Julie Bishop squirm as she was outed/busted for telling lies about contact she had with indonesian officials. The indonesian ambassador said very clearly the Abbott tow-back plan was not on, but jules pretended in an interview they had the support of (unnamed ) high-ranking indonesian officials and could arrange a tow none the less :^O
she batted eyelids as a defence at being caught lying :^O
