A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.
Solved! Go to Solution.

They are and were Australian awards until Hawke discontinued the knight grade.
In 1968, where they have been discontinued since... thats a long time ago, many PM's since then and now.. did any of them even think about resintating the Knights and Dames honours.. no they did not, for a very good reason.
You are missing the big point anyway... this issue is another nail in Abbott's coffin for making decisions on his own and they are bad decisions. Not my opinion only, read the news articles.

That's your small minded socialist opinion only.
Since you'd never get one, why worry.
Or are you going to get angry and violent like lefties do and beat people up
that don't agree with them ?????
Wow, Nicki Savva, Andrew Bolt, Campbell Newman and Barnaby Joyce are really small minded socialists now?
Unlike you, I do not enjoy violence, participate in violent behaviour, or encourage others to use violence.

Andrew Bolt attacks Tony Abbott over 'pathetically stupid' Prince Philip knighthood
Tony Abbott continues to take friendly fire over the Prince Philip knighthood, with conservative commentator Andrew Bolt declaring the decision "pathetically stupid" and potentially fatal for the Prime Minister's leadership.
Bolt's blistering intervention follows a plea by media baron Rupert Murdoch for Mr Abbott to sack his top aide Peta Credlin, who has been criticised internally for being too controlling.
Conservative commentator Andrew Bolt has warned Prime Minister Tony Abbott's leadership is in peril.
Speaking on Sydney radio station 2GB on Wednesday night, Bolt said the decision to honour Prince Philip on Australia Day was "friendless" and one that made Mr Abbott's own allies look stupid if they tried to defend it.
"This is just such a pathetically stupid ... gosh, I didn't mean to be that strong because I actually like Tony Abbott very much. But this is just such a very, very, very stupid decision, so damaging that it could be fatal," Bolt said.
"I thought it was verging on fatal already but this is too much.
"This is a friendless decision, where his friends would feel stupid defending it.
"I defy anyone to put to me a case that says Prince Philip should be made a knight of Australia above all the other choices that would [have been] in front of Tony Abbott when he went to sit down behind his desk. It is just inconceivable."
Bolt said the irrational nature of the decision means voters would now feel they have "no idea what Tony Abbott might do next".
"For a lot of voters, that is, and indeed should be, rather scary."
Bolt joins a string of conservative commentators who have criticised Mr Abbott's decision this week.
MPs have told Fairfax Media calls are being made in which backbenchers are questioning Mr Abbott's judgment and his capacity to lead.

March 2014
Tony Abbott reintroduces knight and dame honours for Australians
...All future governors-general will be appointed a Knight or a Dame.
Mr Abbott said the honour would be extended to Australians of "extraordinary and pre-eminent achievement and merit".
The categories of Knight and Dame of the Order of Australia were created by the Queen, on advice from the Fraser government, in 1976 and were discontinued under advice from the Hawke government in 1986
Liar.

You wanted an Australian.
Gina Rinehart should have been made a Dame.
And a woman to boot !
A worthy success story.

Not your decision, why are you wasting time giving suggestions? Abbott gave one honour to Prince Philip, did he get confused and think the Prince was Australian?

It must be an attempt at a joke. A person who will take their own to court to block their inheritance is not worthy of any sort of AoY honour.

I noticed the other day that good old Angus will now have TWO Blue ribbons on his uniform.
I doubt many in Aus have that.
I know one in the UK does, the female Olympian who served in the Military before becoming an
Olympian so she has two as well.
