Tony Abbott's Support Page

A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

In 2007, we had a strong and sustainable budget with a $20 billion surplus and $50 billion in the bank.

After six years of Labor, the deficit had blown out to $50 billion and gross debt was skyrocketing towards $66...7 billion.
$37 million a day interest, $1 billion a month, $11 billion + per year.

Right now, we’re borrowing $1 billion a month just to pay the interest on debt that the former Labor government ran up.

That’s right – one thousand million every month to pay Labor’s interest bill – that’s a brand new tertiary hospital that could be built every single month if Labor’s interest bill did not have to be paid.

So Am...If it came from a publication dearer to your heart would you still dismiss it as " not creditable".

In other words, is it only unbelievable because you choose to disbelieve it?

Nothing to do with dearer to your heart, there are reliable sources for information and non reliable........ CEC articles are lacking on facts and designed to stir people up.

Wow, who are you quoting there? or have you got the handbook?

Howard left a structural deficit and Howard left an unfunded baby bonus commitment.

Howard left the next govt with a budget problem because he knew he was on the way out.

CEC by the sound of it.  Citizens Electorate Council...accuracy not their strong point.

The Citizens Electoral Council of Australia (CEC) is a minor nationalist political party in Australia affiliated with the international LaRouche Movement, led by American political activist and conspiracy theorist Lyndon LaRouche. It reported having 549 members in 2007. They have been described as "far right","fascist" and "lunar right,"as well as "ideologues on the economic Left

Icy's post contained quotes from Tony Abbott's Press Club speech, I don't know why she didn't reference it as that.

I don't know where TA got his facts & figures from, probably a CEC press release!Woman LOL

Icy what is a tertiary hospital and why would we want to build one every month?. Imagine the wage & salary bill if they was one on every corner!

The Cronulla riots are a completely unrelated diversion.

This whole concept of building a hospital with interest savings is just a simplistic nonsensical notion tossed around to make everyone else sound incompetent.

Re: Tony Abbott's Support Page

Deliberate 'CHAOS' is being created by the LNPers atm!!!! It is choreographed and planned to the 'T'.

The Media is in a staged frenzy too LOL

This is ALL the LNP has got ????! to create an illusion of chaos amongst their ranks. *PPPFTttttt!!

They have NOT just discovered that Tony Abbott is a clown-he has always been a clown.....a wiley clown at that.

The same back bencher that brought TA to the fore years ago is the one and same person who has 'called out ' in the media that he does not support TA as PM anymore.

No-one wants to go down with Tony Abbott but they are such a bunch of greedy egotists that they are prepared to play whatever games it takes to keep the blue (and yes, red ties) ties flapping in the breeze alongside the Parliament of Australia flag.

Tactics, strategies.......political game-play hard at work. Many, many distractions being thrown at us on a daily basis. The Knighthood thing was deliberate as a distraction to try and take our thoughts away from the QLD election LNP massacre results! Can't anyone else here see this? They just want to keep the focus of voters between the Blues(LNP) and the reds(ALP) imo.....to them it does not matter which is in power, or even if each term in govt is only for one term ....SO LONG AS THE POWER BASE IS KEPT BETWEEN THE BI-PARTISANS.....they try every trick in the book to take the focus away from the Independents and the minor parties.....which both ALP and LNP ARE scared of.....and so they should beSmiley Wink

I cannot support the policies of this LNP/Coalition nut jobs, I am disheartened by the 'nothing' that comes from the ALP camp and their behaviour and responses are an exact copy of LNP when they were last in Opposition.

I get my inspiration from the hardworking Independents scattered around our great Nation-they don't hide behind incestuous Party flags and they serve their constituents and Parliament whilst abiding the rules and guidelines of  the Australian Constitution.

Like in most countries, the diff between the major parties is a lot smaller than it used to be.

Re: Tony Abbott's Support Page

Irony is, we need a Parliament or similar set-up.....but we don't need parties in it.

We need a few 'politicians' for want of a better adjective and we can use the Referendum system to govern as other countries successfully do.
