A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

Abbott’s U-turn on vaccines

THE Prime Minister is cracking down on anti-vaxxers, insisting that all parents who don’t have their children immunised should be denied welfare payments.

But in November 2006, Tony Abbott’s attitude was vastly different. The then-Health Minister said he “wouldn’t be rushing out to get his daughters vaccinated” against cervical cancer.

“Maybe that’s because I’m a cruel, callow, callous, heartless **bleep** but, look, I won’t be,” Mr Abbott told Southern Cross radio.

Mr Abbott’s comments came as the Pharmaceutical Benefit Advisory Committee (PBAC) knocked back an application from Australian manufacturer CSL to make the Gardasil vaccine available free to all females aged 12 to 26.

Gardasil halts the spread of sexually-transmitted human papilloma virus (HPV), which causes 70 per cent of cervical cancers. It was developed by Australian Ian Frazer, who was recently shortlisted for the European Inventor Award 2015 for saving countless lives with his discovery.

The former Health Minister’s previous comments on the vaccine were highlighted this week by blogger Jon Rapport. “How revealing,” wrote Rapport. “Tony Abbott, a vaccine refuser.”

Liberal Senator Jeannie Ferris, who was recovering from ovarian cancer at the time, was fiercely critical of his stance. “How embarrassing that our country is the one that is not going to vaccinate its daughters,” she said. “I have to say I am very disappointed with the decision because the average family might have two daughters and is looking at almost $1000 to decide to give their children lifetime protection. And who doesn’t want to do that?

I am optimistic that commonsense will prevail. Put a price on somebody’s mother, somebody’s sister, somebody’s wife — $400 — I don’t think so.”

Mr Abbott’s then-counterpart, Julia Gillard, told ABC Radio at the time: “The PBAC’s principle reason, as I understand it, was the cost of this vaccine. That’s pretty short-sighted when we know that this vaccine is going to cut cervical cancer by 70 per cent.”

Then-Queensland Deputy Premier Anna Bligh said the decision was ridiculous. “They should immediately reconsider it, and frankly the Health Minister Tony Abbott, in all conscience, has to intervene.”

Twenty days later, Mr Abbott asked PBAC to consider a new submission from CSL with more information and at a lower price “given the possibility of introducing an immunisation program through schools in 2007”.

In April 2007, Gardasil was made available free to girls aged 12-13 as part of the National Immunisation Program. In February 2013, it was also made available to boys aged 12-13.

But it was not a priority for Mr Abbott in early November 2006.

“The program is what the experts think clearly is absolutely necessary, and at the moment the experts don’t think this is absolutely necessary,” he said.

Has anyone died after receiving an HPV vaccine?

Some deaths among people who received an HPV vaccine have been reported to VAERS. This does not mean that the vaccine caused the death, only that the death occurred after the person got the vaccine. CDC and FDA review all available information on reports of death following all vaccines, including HPV vaccines.

Between June 2006 and March 2014, when about 67 million doses of HPV vaccine had been given out in the U.S., VAERS received 96 reports of death after people received the Gardasil vaccine. Among the 96 reports of death, many could not be further studied because there was not enough information included in the report to verify that a person had died.

In 47 of the reports, CDC verified that the person had died through review of medical records, autopsy reports, and death certificates.

After careful review of every known case of death that has happened after Gardasil vaccination, CDC concluded:

  • There is no diagnosis that would suggest Gardasil caused the death

From the VAERS website

Guide to Interpreting VAERS Case Report Information

When evaluating data from VAERS, it is important to note that for any reported event, no cause-and-effect relationship has been established. Reports of all possible associations between vaccines and adverse events (possible side effects) are filed in VAERS. Therefore, VAERS collects data on any adverse event following vaccination, be it coincidental or truly caused by a vaccine. The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not documentation that a vaccine caused the event.

Even on a subject that most people in the world would give their right arm for, to protect their children from measles, whooping cough, TB and other diseases, here we have the leftist populism pouring  on a PM who has the intestinal fortitude to do the hard stuff.

Where was Labor in this? in the 6 years they were in office did they take a stand? did they see the explosion of non vaccinations in children? what did they do? Nothing.
