Has anyone had any problems with getting damaged Tupperware items replaced?
Seems it now incurs a postage charge. That wasn't the agreement when the tupperware was purchased, so what are the ramifications?

My flour went mouldy in a Decor container. Never had that problem with any Tupperware containers. Tupperware have a trademark seal and when the lid is nearly closed you can burp the air out.
Some of the old Tupperware containers I have are orange..prob back in fashion by now.
There are some Tupperware items their guarantee doesn't apply to - anything with metal parts (e.g. ice cream scoops, garlic crusher etc).
Maybe the pastry sheet wasn't covered either.

Seems as though they don't care about maintaining the faith. Good on you for telling them.

I think in earlier times returning a piece to be replaced through a distributor was also a good way to get you to buy more because you usually got a copy of the latest catalogue....and the leaflet of special hostess offers in case you were daft enough to want to hold a Tupperware party.
Now the catalogues are online and most buyers would like to still buy the Tupperware but avoid the party.
Also in the Olden Times (!!) most of their plasticware sold here was actually made in Australia. Now they only say the moulds are. Perhaps they have to source replacement pieces from elsewhere and charge postage to recover some of the cost. It's been years since I've seen a Tupperware item with Made in Australia on it. Every year there is less and less of their core business (ie plastic containers) in their catalogues IMO...and what they do sell is very expensive indeed. Also some of their new designs aren't as practical.
I've noticed some of the older designs (quick shakes, fridge containers etc) are still made overseas and thankfully can often be found on eBay along with more decorated containers for the US market. And there's always vintage items to be found as well.

That is exactly right. A split in a lid? You were able to take it along to the next party, hand it in and it would get replaced (or an explanation given as to why not) when the orders came back.
Now they expect you to post it both ways.
I can understand the postage & online option being available but why can't people ALSO hand it in to a rep if they are at a party?
Some of the details asked online are unreasonable too. This stuff was touted as having a lifetime guarantee so why should people remember exactly when & where they bought it?
In the past, people paid a premium, knowing they were paying over market price but doing it because of the guarantee & easy exchange. What they are doing now may be quite legal but it is a breach of the faith.
I have a lot of the stuff but they lost me when I paid over $50 for a microwave jug that broke after 2 uses (it fell out of a bottom cupboard, only about 6cm to fall, but broke in half) & they refused to replace it. Same with a glass teapot that cracked with hot water on its 3rd use.
Not everything has a lifetime warranty, I know, But in my opinion they try too hard to get out of replacing anything these days.

The issue of charging for postage, when in the past here was no cost is still current, and customers are not always happy with their replacements either. It crops up quite often on Oz Tupperware's FB page.

Same as your comment. I find that unnecessary and also rude.

I must be the only one getting caught out, I don't always check the dates on the threads, just the comments.
It's a pity threads over 12 months old aren't just locked or something.
