As for the power corrupts absolutely comment, false analogies does not address the issue of corrupt unions by trying to spread the blame onto others.
This is about corrupt unions, stand over unions, bully boy unions, thieving unions, lying unions, blackmailing unions. not other bodies.
I don't recall using any analogy, false and or otherwise. All I said was I "All power corrupts and abslute power corrupts absolutely.' Was this not true of the unions? I then went on to agree that it had been known for a long while that some unions were corrupt .Following that statement I expressed a hope that while reform was certainly needed, it would not lead to the emasculation of of the union movement and I pointed out that possible dangers inherent in such a move. That ws an observation, not an analogy.
Had I wished to draw an analogy I could have used FIFA as a classic example of power leading to corruption, but I didn't.

I found it incredible that the whistleblower who dobbed in the pollie in the Health union funds scandal was also guilty of misappropriation of union funds. Did she think she wouldn't get found out? Crooked and not very smart either....it says it all about some unions and the kinds of people they put in official positions these days.

True, but according to Bill Shorten it's only a couple of bad apples.

Union boss Mark Olsen, leader of one of the biggest unions, the nurses federation, calls for complete overhaul of unions and backs the royal commissions recommendations.
I wonder how long he will be allowed to stay in the job

When somebody accepts bribe, there must be also somebody who was willing to pay bribe. I wonder why there is nothing said about the other side of the coin?
You kow what they say about people in glass houses and stones? Remember Kathy Jackson.......
